Family Tours-July 2018 (Antelope Canyon)

Have stayed at both and enjoyed them. The best experience at GCNP is at least an overnight and most of two days. Any advice on how we should plan these places would be appreciated. If you do the smooth water float trip you will get the perspective from both the top looking down and the bottom looking up!! My husband is hesitant to go in June but the price is right and we can only travel in Summer anyways. My husband is also claustrophobic, pretty much so getting him on a plane is always an adventure; not to say a drama - but he had absolutely zero issue with Antelope Canyon. We would have to stay in Phoenix probably around the airport for the night. I'm just a bit worried about my tech teens not being bored to death. Minimize your time there to maintain comfort. I know you can't predict the weather but is June historically really hot. Thanks for any feedback. Browse forums All Browse by destination. If you think your children need to have amenities such as game room and pool then maybe the better option would be something in Tusayan , but trust me they won't be bored at the Grand Canyon!! Yes, we're very active. The rooms book quickly especially in the summer months when school is out!! You'll be glad to have blankets at night though. Lodging is ample with Days Inn and Quality Inn getting good reviews. June Weather and a Few Other Questions. As was suggested make your Grand Canyon lodging reservations for inside the park!! I see that everyone recommends staying in the park. Ask a question. Antelope Canyon is a beautiful tour. Book your GCNP lodging first and work the rest of your plan around that. Special Offer. Highs are typically in the 80s in June and absent humidity will be quite comfortable. June will be very hot in Phoenix. Don't leave out Horseshoe Bend in Page! I think they will surprise you especially if it's just for two nights! There are just somewhat narrow passages, that's all, but always wide enough that people can even pass each other. I can book right now at Maswik and was also looking at the Holiday Inn Express. It seems a bit rustic. Grand Canyon National All forums. I wouldn't worry about claustrophobia at Antelope Canyon. Kachina Lodge. I looked at lodging in the GC yesterday and there is availability. The Painted Desert can be seen from two areas, one along I east of Flagstaff , and the other along Hwy 89 north of Flagstaff towards Page. El Tovar Hotel. It is on Native American land and you will need a guide to go into the Upper Canyon. Which one of those do you recommend? Didn't know if it is really needed. It's not as if you had to squeeze through bottlenecks or anything like that. Spend the remainder of your time in Sedona before returning to Phoenix. I have to look into a few more places up that way. I'm all for that and my husband would be okay with that. Heat is not an issue at the park on the rim. I have to fly home from Phoenix. Grand Canyon Lodge - North Rim. Being very high makes them seem narrow than they are. Phantom Ranch. Yavapai Lodge. Mather Campground. Our flight gets in at pm am east coast time. We will be flying into Phoenix and staying for approximately eight days. Don't wait to long to book your rooms inside the Grand Canyon. Sedona is feet above sea level and also comfortable in June. Some of the lodging inside the park is a bit more rustic then others, but all of them are kept clean! Traveling back and forth or in and out of the park is IMO a waste of valuable time not to mention the wildlife roaming around early morning and towards dusk! See all. Level Contributor. If anyone has any experience, are they really confining? The Antelope Canyons look spectacular. Call them at and do that soon!! The two parts tourists will go to Upper or Lower are both - obviously - open to the top, all the way. I don't know if I should make Flagstaff our base or stay closer to the GC and then head over to Sedona and stay there. Chief Tsosie Tours gets good reviews. Thunderbird Lodge.{/INSERTKEYS}{/PARAGRAPH} That's a good full week in northern Arizona. Report inappropriate content. It is feet above sea level. View Hotel. Log in to get trip updates and message other travelers. GCNP will be in the 80s, possibly low 90s, as high temperature and cool at night. {PARAGRAPH}{INSERTKEYS}We can get a really cheap flight mid June and I was wondering if it will be extremely hot at that time? I think only one was sold out for the dates June 15 - Page looks awesome. PHX is feet and getting hot. The next day we would head towards the GC. Other than close proximity to the canyon, is there any other benefits to staying there? The advantage to staying in the park is just being right there, especially for sunrise and sunsets! It is extremely helpful. Thanks, you guys are great. The Maswik Lodge had availability. You can either drive right to the site and pick up a tour there or check in town with a tour company before. You can go into these two sites for loads of info Thanks for all the info. I would recommend staying in a park lodge for nights. The only thing that concerned me was that there is no air conditioning. Thanks RedRox. Sedona and Page make great destinations as well with plenty to do in both places! Bring water with you and enjoy the views! How sad is that? Nights will cool down into the 50s. You more then likely will be reaching for a blanket at night!!! We'd be too tired to drive anywhere. Tusayan very expensive!!!!! Bright Angel Lodge. I am very claustrophobic so was worried about them but want to see them so bad. Watch this Topic.
